BENGALURU: Even as a cold war between some Congress leaders and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah continues, it seems like they are firing from B K Hariprasad’s shoulders against the CM.
Senior Congress leader Hariprasad appeared to be indirectly criticising Siddaramaiah on several occasions in the recent past, but without taking any names. Some original Congress leaders have already expressed dissatisfaction in private over Siddaramaiah being chose for CM. This has now led to questions being raised whether these leaders are supporting B K Hariprasad to express their dissatisfaction.
Political watchers say that if there is no warning from the party high command, the internal strife and attack may continue. B K Hariprasad has repeatedly attacked Siddaramaiah, but the party is not in a position to convince or prevent him from doing so as he has strong connections at the AICC level.
But Hariprasad’s attacks may prove costly for the party’s image and, if senior Congressmen support it, the situation could intensify further. If the Congress high command warns Hariprasad, the situation could change. Otherwise, there is a possibility that AICC leaders may have to call them to talk to them directly and clarify the situation.
