BELAGAVI: A 13-year-old schoolgirl riding on a bicycle was knocked down by a private bus at Mallapur PG village in Gokak taluk. However, she escaped the jaws of death and is now safe.
Ujwala Hulikatti was riding a cycle when the bus, allegedly driven negligently, ran over her. The incident occurred on December 31 and was captured on CCTV. Footage shows the bus hitting the bicycle from behind and the girl falling to the ground.
Locals rushed to help, pulling her out from under the bus. The accident occurred within the Ghataprabha police station’s jurisdiction. The girl is currently safe, but the incident has sparked concern.
