School inundated with overflowing drainage water on reopening day in Yadgir village

YADGIR: On a day schools reopened in the state after the summer break, students of the government school at Dariyapur village in Shahpur taluk were in for a shock as the school premises was completely inundated with rain water and waste water from an overflowing drain.

The district witnessed heavy rain overnight and the students of the Dariyapur school were forced to wade through ankle-deep water to enter their classrooms. Villagers alleged that the drains are blocked, forcing water out, and accused the officials concerned of negligence.
