HASSAN: The headmaster of a private school in Belur taluk was thrashed by locals for allegedly sexually harassing schoolgirls. He was later handed over to the police.
Narendra, the principal, allegedly used to call girl students to the office room on the pretext of getting them to sweep the floor and used to behave badly with them. The issue came to light when the victims shared their plight with their friends. The girls later informed their parents.
The parents of the girls confronted the principal and asked him to accompany them to the police station. When he refused, he was thrashed and the police were called in.
The Belur police have taken up further investigation.
