KALABURAGI: The Gulbarga University authorities are allegedly issuing marks cards with pass marks to failed candidates in exchange for money.
The first division assistants in the evaluation wing are allegedly issuing marks cards with pass marks for as much as Rs 30,000. The issue came to light when the marks card of a BCom student, who had applied for a Master’s degree course, was sent for verification.
The university authorities had allegedly taken Rs 30,000 from Nagaraj, a student, and issued him a marks card for the fourth semester with pass marks. Since he had failed, his sixth semester marks card had been withheld. The fake marks card issue came to light when he produced the fourth semester marks card.
In his defence, Nagaraj, a student of a degree college, claimed that he wanted to apply for revaluation, but was asked by one Sanjeev Kumar to pay Rs 30,000, but he could manage to pay only Rs 20,000. He has now lodged a complaint with the university vice-chancellor seeking action against the official.
