MYSURU: Customers of State Bank of India (SBI) are a worried lot as several of their bank accounts have been reflecting negative balance across branches in the city. The customers are perplexed as the balance they checked in the morning had disappeared by night.
Several customers of SBI have been affected by the glitch, but the bank officials seem to have no response. Customers of the bank with accounts in Yadavagiri, Kuvempunagr, Vivekananda Nagar Circle and other branches reported that their accounts were showing negative balance.
Kiran B, a customer at the Yadavagiri branch of SBI, said his bank account showed a negative balance of RS 9,484 on March 25. Ravi, another customer with his account at the Vivekananda Nagar Circle branch, also said his account reflected a negative balance.
Bank officials at the Yadavagiri branch said about 500 accounts were facing problems, but did not elaborate on when it would be rectified. The lack of proper response from the bank authorities has left the customers worried.
