Sarjapur police fire at murder accused

BENGALURU: A notorious history-sheeter was shot in the leg by Sarjapur police while he was trying to escape, in Anekal, Bengaluru Rural, on Monday night. The accused is Srinivas alias Gubbachchi Seena.

The incident occurred in Sarjapura, Anekal sub-division, when police tried to arrest Seena, who is accused of murdering former history-sheeter Venkatesh alias Venky, on January 28.

Seena and his gang had brutally murdered Venky and were on the run. When police tried to arrest Seena, he allegedly attacked police constable Irfan and tried to escape.

Inspector Naveen fired a warning shot in the air and then shot Seena in the leg in self-defence. Seena has been arrested and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
