‘Santro’ Ravi pops excessive dose of BP, sugar medicines, hospitalised

BENGALURU: Alleged wheeler-dealer and human trafficker K S Manjunath a.k.a ‘Santro’ Ravi was rushed to hospital on Thursday evening after he consumed excess dose of medicines for blood pressure and diabetes.

‘Santro’ Ravi is in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) till January 30. On Thursday evening, he reportedly consumed about 10 tablets, leading to fluctuation in his blood pressure and sugar levels. He was immediately rushed to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital and later to Victoria Hospital where he is recovering in the ICU.

Victoria Hospital medical superintendent Dr Ramesh Krishna on Friday confirmed that ‘Santro’ Ravi had consumed excessive medicines. He added that Ravi’s health is improving and that necessary treatment is being given.

Meanwhile, police inspector Praveen, who had allegedly colluded with ‘Santro’ Ravi to book a false case against the latter’s wife, was summoned by the CCB for questioning again on Friday after his role in the case was revealed.

Initially, Praveen had told the CCB that he knew nothing about the false case against ‘Santro’ Ravi’s wife and had claimed that it was the work of the sub-inspector. He had also not replied to whether there was pressure from any higher-ups to file the case.
