BENGALURU: Sandalwood actor Ajay Rao’s wife Sapna has decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage and has filed for divorce.
Ajay Rao and Sapna got married on December 18, 2014, after falling in love with each other. They had a simple wedding in Hosapete and started their new life together. The couple have a daughter, Charishma. However, cracks have appeared in their marital life and Sapna has approached the court seeking a divorce and an end to their troubled marriage.
The couple’s personal life has been making headlines in Sandalwood industry.
The couple had recently moved into a new house and had a grand housewarming ceremony. Despite this, the their marital life has been strained, and Sapna decided to end their 11-year-long marriage. Both Sapna and their daughter filed a complaint against Ajay Rao under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
There is speculation that actor Ajay Rao’s foray into film production, despite his wife’s opposition, allegedly brought a storm into his life. After marriage, Ajay Rao had established a production company called Sri Krishna Art and Creation. Sapna had repeatedly warned her husband not to venture into film production.
Despite this, Ajay Rao went on to produce several films, including ‘Krishnaleela’ and ‘Yuddha Kanda’. For the film ‘Yuddha Kanda’, Ajay Rao had taken out a huge loan and even sold his beloved luxury car.
After the release of ‘Yuddha Kanda’, frequent quarrels erupted in the family, and it’s alleged that the massive debt taken out for the film was the reason for the rift in their marital life. Fed up with the quarrels, Sapna has filed for divorce.
During the production of ‘Yuddha Kanda’, Ajay Rao had sold his BMW car and a video of his daughter pleading with him not to sell the car and crying went viral on social media.
