BENGALURU: As expected, girls have outshone boys in the PU II exams, the results of which were announced on Saturday. Interestingly, this year, rural students have done slightly better than their urban counterparts.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh, who announced the results, said the overall pass percentage has improved by 0.08 per cent over last year. While Dakshina Kannada district topped among the districts, Udupi was second and Vijayapura at third spot. Chitradurga was at the bottom of the chart.
“We got better than expected results and I congratulate all the students who have passed. Students should not get disheartened with the result, this is not the last exam”, Nagesh said.
“This year, we had 81 evaluation centres, more than previous years, and the results were announced in less than 40 days. We could have announced it three days earlier, but as the CET was held on Thursday and Friday, we did not announce it as it could affect the performance of the students”, he said.
