BENGALURU: The Kamakshipalya police, who are investigating the source of the Rs 40 lakh cash that was found in actor Darshan’s house, now feel that he may have got the money from a movie producer towards his acting fee. Darshan is currently lodged at the central prison in Parappana Agrahara in the Renukaswamy murder case wherein he is the second accused.

A large sum of money was found at Darshan’s house.

During their investigation, the police found that apart from the money that Darshan had taken from his friend Mohanraj, the remaining cash was received from a movie producer. Kappe, Nikhil Nayak and Keshavamurthy in order to confess to Renukaswamy’s murder and also from Darshan’s friend Pradosh’s residence.

Cash was also recovered from Pradosh’s house.

In all, the police had recovered over Rs 75 lakh in cash and had launched an investigation into its source since it involved huge amounts. Now, they are planning to issue notices to those who had given money to Darshan and question them, sources said.
