Rs 1.2 lakh cash, clothes and foodgrains burnt in accidental fire in labourer’s house

BIDAR: A labourer’s family lost Rs 1.2 lakh in cash, clothes and foodgrains after an accidental fire broke out in the house at Soladabaka village in Hulasur taluk. The money was kept in bundles of currency notes with a face value of Rs 500.

Maruti Rudraji Suryavamshi had taken a loan of Rs 1.2 lakh from a bank for a wedding in the family. The family members had kept the money in pots which had been placed on a platform along with idols of gods.

The family members said they had lit a lamp on the platform and headed out to work. When they returned, they found the cash, some clothes and stored foodgrains all burnt. The Hulasur police visited the house and have registered a case.
