Road, tanker washed away in Raichur village after heavy rain

A tanker and a temporary road were washed away due to heavy rain.

RAICHUR: Following the heavy rain in the district on Tuesday night, a temporary road along a tank at Pattepura village in the taluk was washed away along with a tanker. The tanker was parked close to the tank.

The temporary road had suffered damage and was fixed only 15 days ago. but now, it was washed away due to heavy rain. The temporary road was laid to facilitate movement for construction work on a bridge across the tank.

With no connecting road, Pattepura, Jagiravenkatapura, Aralappanahuda and Raghunathahalli have been cut off, causing anxiety among the villagers. Now, they have to travel an additional 40 km and have vented their anger at Raichur Rural MLA Basanagouda Daddal demanding immediate completion of work on the bridge.

In Raichur city, rain water entered the premises of the district administrative offices which has been built in a tank bed area. The DDPI and Nirmiti Kendra offices too were flooded an important files and documents were wet. The staff had a tough time draining out the water. The administrative complex was inaugurated only on January 26.
