JD(S) MLC HD Revanna has been booked in a case of kidnap at KR Nagar police station.

BENGALURU: Janata Dal (Secular) MLA H D Revanna was on Wednesday remanded to seven days in judicial custody till May 14 after the SIT custody ended today. He was sent to the Parappana Agrahara central prison after the special court for elected representatives put off hearing on his bail plea in the alleged kidnap case as the special investigation team (SIT) sought more time to respond.

The court will hear the bail application on Thursday. Special Public Prosecutor Jagadish sought more time to respond to the bail application prompting Revanna’s lawyer C V Nagesh to term it as a delaying tactic.

Holenarsipur MLA H D Revanna was taken to the Parappana Agrahara central prison after he was remanded to judicial custody.

Earlier in the day, the SPP questioned the legitimacy of the hearing on the bail plea when Revanna was still in police custody. The court had asked him to file his objection and had put off hearing for the afternoon session. The SIT had also sought further custody of Revanna stating that he had not cooperated with the investigation.

When Revanna was presented before the court, judge Ravikumar Kattimani asked him whether he faced any difficulties while in police custody. Revanna replied that he had questions that he knew about and added that he was not allowed to sleep for three days. He also claimed that he had been having pain in the stomach and added that the kidnap case was foisted on him.
