Speaking at the BJP Vijaya Sankalpa convention, Kateel said, “If he has enough courage, let him say that he does not want Hindu votes. It was he who had said that the word ‘Hindu’ was bad”. The convention was held at Bassapur village in Yamakanmardi constituency in Belagavi district.

Nalin Kumar further said, “Today, I came to his constituency to send him packing home. Satish Jarkiholi will not contest from here anymore will badly be looking for another constituency, but won’t win anywhere. Hindu society has awakened now and it will give him a befitting answer.
