BENGALURU: A rare and prolonged lunar eclipse will be visible across India on September 7 and 8. The eclipse will start at 9.57 pm on September 7 and end at 1.26 am on September 8. The maximum eclipse will occur between 12.28 am and 1.56 am, lasting for approximately three hours.
This lunar eclipse will be a rare phenomenon, and the Moon will appear reddish in colour during this time. The eclipse will be visible from all parts of India and it will be a full lunar eclipse where the entire Moon will pass through the Earth’s shadow.
According to Nehru Planetarium director Guruprasad, this is a rare astronomical phenomenon that can be observed without any protective glass.

The eclipse will be fully visible from 11 pm to 12.22 am on September 8. The eclipse will end at 2:25 am on September 8, lasting for a total of 5 hours and 27 minutes.
