BENGALURU: Sandalwood actress Ramya has come out in support of murder victim Renukaswamy’s family, in a case where actor Darshan is an accused. This has angered Darshan’s fans, who have been sending Ramya abusive messages on social media.
Following the abusive message, Ramya complained to the State Women’s Commission and sought to take action against them. In reply, the commission ordered immediate action against the accused or social media page handlers immediately and blocking of those handles.
Ramya has taken to social media to share screenshots of these messages, exposing the abusive language used by Darshan’s fans.
Ramya had previously spoken out against Darshan when his name came up in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, stating that if he was involved, he should face severe punishment. When the Supreme Court reserved its verdict on Darshan’s bail plea, Ramya again spoke out against him, which further enraged his fans.
Now, Darshan’s fans have taken to social media to personally attack Ramya, using abusive language and insults. Ramya shared screenshots of these messages, including some that contain obscene comments about her and other celebrities, including their families and even children.
Ramya has announced that she will take legal action against Darshan’s fans, filing complaints with all the abusive messages. She said she would fight legally. She has also condemned the misogynistic attitude of Darshan’s fans, stating that such behaviour is responsible for the violence and abuse faced by women.
In a scathing post on Instagram, Ramya wrote, “The messages from Renukaswamy’s supporters and Darshan’s fans show no difference. They all have a misogynistic mindset. It’s people like them who are responsible for the violence and abuse faced by women.”
She also added, “Your comments are proof of why Renukaswamy’s family deserves justice. Your messages reveal your true character.”
