Rajya Sabha adjourned sine die, adopts motion of thanks on President’s address

NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die on Wednesday after the House adopted the motion of thanks on the President’s address.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address and said the next five years will be devoted to ensure saturation of basic facilities and for the fight against poverty.

He said the country will emerge victorious against poverty in the next five years.

PM Modi said when India will be the third largest economy in the world, its impact will be felt on every sphere of life. Opposition MPs staged walkout during PM Modi’s reply.

Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his disappointment and disapproval over the move of opposition MPs. Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Tuesday after PM Modi’s reply to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s Address.

The Parliament session saw new members taking oath in the two Houses. This was the first session of Parliament after the results of Lok Sabha polls last month.The Lok Sabha session started on June 24 while the Rajya Sabha session began on June 27. (ANI)
