BENGALURU: A wall of the rajakaluve near Hosahalli Metro Station is in the danger of collapsing, causing damage to the adjacent BBMP park wall which has already developed a crack. Locals fear further collapse and are demanding that it be repaired as soon as possible.

The rajakaluve, which falls in Vijayanagar Assembly constituency, is located near a private car showroom on West of Chord Road, and its collapse has raised concerns about safety. The adjacent service road leading to D’Mart has been closed due to white-topping work on the same road, causing traffic congestion.

There is no barricade at all along one part of the rajakaluve. Cars are being parked there and  the soil in the area where they are parked is prone to further collapse and invites danger.

Local engineers are urging authorities to repair the collapsing rajakaluve wall immediately. People are struggling to reach the adjacent service road, they said.

A local resident,Parimala said, “We have to adjust to the problems. Politicians do not bother with such things. Pedestrians and motorists are suffering. Of course, this is a very big problem and needs to be addressed as early as possible.”

Another lical, Uday Kumar, said, “The repair work of rajakaluve should be done soon. If it collapses completely, it is very difficult to restore. The authorities concerned should take action before an untoward incident happens”.
