BAGALKOT: Following the heavy rain on Monday night, rainwater entered two hostels in Jamakhandi town, forcing the hostellers to spend a sleepless night.
Water entered the Sarvodaya Hostel for the speech and hearing impaired children and also the Bharat Rural Development Institute Girls Hostel, which is aided by the Women and Child Development Department.
The hostel inmates had to spend the night huddled in one room and they complained that they had to spend a sleepless night. They also pointed out that hostel warden is not present during the night and that there are no proper facilities for them.
When some locals went to the Bharat Rural Development Institute Girls Hostel to help, the staff there allegedly behaved rudely with them.
