DAVANAGERE: Rainwater entered the taluk hospital at Honnali on Tuesday night after heavy rain pounded the city and Nyamathi, putting patients and their attendants to hardship.
The rainwater entered the general ward, maternity ward and even the ICU. The hospital staff spent the entire night clearing the rainwater. It is suspected that the flooding occurred due to blocked drains. The nursing mothers and other patients were shifted out of the flooded rooms.
In Honnali, there was waterlogging on the roads, including in residential areas. Chikkudda village in Channagiri taluk was also flooded with rainwater entering homes. All the roads were also waterlogged.
