BENAGLURU: The South Western Railway (SWR), Bengaluru division, has introduced a QR code-based ticketing system to curb the rising menace of fake unreserved railway ticket rackets in Bengaluru.
The system, which uses thermal printers, has been launched on a pilot basis at the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station in Bengaluru.
Tickets issued through thermal printers are impossible to duplicate. While ordinary printers take around 20 seconds to print one ticket, thermal printers can print a ticket in just two to three seconds, the SWR manager added.
