RAICHUR: The Block Education Officer (BEO) of Devadurga taluk in Raichur district, Sukhadeva, has been suspended for misusing lakhs of rupees and dereliction of duty.
The Hutti Gold Mines Company had donated Rs 30 lakh for the purchase of land and construction of a building for the Devadurga Government Higher Primary School. However, Sukhadeva allegedly deposited the money in his personal account and misused it.
He also failed to respond to phone calls from teachers, the public and other officials as his mobile phone was always switched off. Following these repeated allegations, the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy has issued the suspension order of Sukhadeva.
