TUMAKURU: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday stopped his speech while addressing a public meeting at Turuvekere in the district on Monday after hearing the sound of Azaan (Muslim call to prayer) .
Lashing out at the BJP government in Karnataka, the former Wayanad MP said, “For the last three years, BJP has indulged in only corruption here. The people of Karnataka call this regime a “40 per cent government”, as they take a 40 per cent cut or commission from contractors. So give only 40 seats for that party. The PM was also aware of this. So I would like to ask him why he didn’t take any action on it”.
“They take money from you and buy legislators. If you give Congress 150 seats, they won’t be able to buy legislators. In the last election, the BJP did not get majority, but bought legislators and did damage to democracy. The present CM paid Rs 2,000 crore for the post”, Rahul Gandhi said.
