BENGALURU: Actor and politician Ramya aka Divyaspandana has said that Rahul Gandhi is the third-most influential person in her life after her parents. Ramya has completed 20 years in the movie industry. In 2013, she left her acting career and started her political career.
While sharing her journey on the ‘Weekend With Ramesh Season-5’ show, she said, “I entered politics unexpectedly. At the same time, I lost my father and it was an extremely difficult time in my life. Ten days after I lost my father, I was in Parliament. It was the people of Mandya who gave me love and confidence”.
Ramya credited Rahul Gandhi for helping her at the most difficult time of her life. Speaking further on the show, she said, “The first influential person in my life is my mother, the second is my father, and the third most influential person is Rahul Gandhi. I won’t lie that when my father died, I had thought of suicide. But, at that time, Rahul Gandhi helped me a lot. He gave me a lot of courage, and he spoke about birth and death. “
