RAEBARELI (Uttar Pradesh): Congress MP and Opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday inaugurated the newly-built Shaheed Chowk, Degree College Chauraha in Raebareli. Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi offered prayers at Shri Peepaleshwar Mahadevji Mandir and Hanuman Mandir in Raebareli.
Rahul Gandhi is on a one-day visit to Raebareli, during which he will participate in several events. He is also set to inaugurate roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and attend a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting.

Rahul Gandhi is currently serving as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. He won the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections by a margin of 390,030 votes.
Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi will visit Hyderabad to meet with intellectuals and stakeholders regarding the caste survey initiated by the state government. Giving details about the caste survey, Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that it is being conducted for the first time in Telangana.

“Rahul Gandhi will reach Hyderabad to hold a meeting with intellectuals, stakeholders on caste survey initiated by the state government…A caste survey is being conducted for the first time in Telangana…Each enumerator has been given 150 houses to survey and accordingly, the decision will be taken for their benefit,” Telangana Minister Prabhakar said on Monday.
In October, Ponnam Prabhakar said that a detailed caste survey would be conducted in Telangana between November 6 and 30. “A detailed Caste Survey is going to be conducted in Telangana between November 6 and 30. We promised this during elections and now we are fulfilling it”, Prabhakar had said.
The Congress has repeatedly demanded that a caste census be conducted in the country, calling it a “progressive and significant step”. (ANI)
