BIDAR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he kept quiet on all the alleged corruption cases in the state. He also said that he was disqualified from Parliament for speaking about corruption issues and was even denied the microphone to speak.
Addressing a Jan Kranti rally at Bhalk-Humnabad, Rahul Gandhi said, “You have to pay 40 per cent commission or else your work won’t be done. The contractors’ association had made allegations of 40 per cent commission and even wrote to the Prime Minister, but he never replied. There were scams in recruitment of PSIs, in KPTCL and other institutions, but Modi says the BJP is against corruption”.
Rahul Gandhi said that Modi lied about depositing Rs 15 lakh in every individual’s account after getting all the black money stashed abroad. “Did you get the Rs 15 lakh that was promised?” he asked the crowd.
Demanding the government to release the OBC survey, he said the cap on 50 per cent reservation should be removed. “A caste census was conducted in 2011 and it is essential that the report be released so that the numbers of OBCs, Dalits are and Adivasis known and they get their due benefits. “The BJP only wants OBC votes, but will not increase reservation for them”, he remarked.
Noting that Bidar is the land of 12th century reformer Basavanna who gave the idea of democratic participation, Rahul said th BJP is carryng out an assault on democracy. “We don’t lie like the Modi and we will fulfill what we announce in the manifesto. We have already made four promises which are pro-people and pro-farmers”. He also questioned the links between Modi and Adani and askded wh the Rs 20,000 crore in benami accounts belongs to.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Bidar air base by a special flight and reached the rally venue in Bidar by helicopter, He was accompanied by AICC general secretaries K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala.
