The police say the hydro ganja was seized from a car in Gangavathi.

KOPPAL: The seizure of a large quantity of hydro ganja, believed to have been smuggled in from Thailand, was seized by the police in Gangavathi. However, this has given rise to several questions even as the police remain tightlipped.

There are allegations that ganja is sold illegally at some resorts in Sanapura in Gangavathi taluk and Basapura in Koppal taluk. However, the seizure of hydro ganja in Gangavathi has given rise to suspicion.

A photograph released by the Gangavathi police shows packets of ganja placed on a straw mat. Resorts in Sanapura and Basapura commonly use straw mats on the floor, raising questions about the seizure.

While the police have maintained that the hydro ganja was seized from a car near the government college in Gangavathi, it is alleged that the narcotic substance was actually seized from a prestigious resort near Basapura.

Questions are also being raised on how the hydro ganja was brought to Gangavathi from an airport and whether the Gangavathi police are shielding some influential individuals. However, the police have not clarified on the seizure so far.
