KOPPAL: A PWD executive engineer from the district refused to pay the toll and created a ruckus with toll booth staff near the Hitnal toll in Koppal taluk.
Hemanthraj, the engineer shouted the toll booth staff saying that he would not pay the toll as he was travelling in a state government vehicle.
Hemanthraj regularly travels between Hosapete and Koppal. He started an argument with staff claiming that government vehicles are not supposed to pay a toll. The toll staff said that government vehicles cannot be allowed to pass without the registration number. The oral exchange between them continued for some time, and finally the engineer paid the toll.
It is alleged Hemanth Raj was misusing the government vehicle for his personal work.
