BENGALURU: The gas emergency caused by the Middle East conflict has led to private gas stations suddenly increasing auto LPG prices, sparking widespread outrage among autorickshaw drivers.

Private gas stations in the city have shocked auto drivers by suddenly hiking prices from Rs 105 to Rs 120 per litre. The station had previously charged Rs 105 per litre until April 6, but has now increased it to Rs 120 per litre. This move has added to the woes of drivers already struggling with the gas shortage and price hikes.

The hike is attributed to the increase in international crude oil prices and the lack of government subsidies for private gas stations, forcing them to purchase LPG at higher rates. Drivers are appealing to the government to take action against the price hikes as they’re struggling to cope with the increased costs.
