BENGALURU: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam’s (TTD) Venkateshwara temple at Vyalikaval in the city on Tuesday conducted a purification ceremony in the light of the controversy over supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirupati temple which was used for preparation of the laddu prasadam.
The temple was closed from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm and entry for devotees was stopped. Darshan was allowed after 6.30 pm and the laddu counter too opened only at 6 pm.
Later, the temple staff said that the sale of laddu prasadam had increased and none of the devotees were raising questions about the Tirupati incident. They said about 1,000 laddus are sold every day at the temple.
