BENGALURU: The owner of Jetlag pub and popular Sandalwood film producer Soundarya Jagadish’s name has cropped up during the investigation into the Renukaswamy murder case. Jagadish reportedly gave Pavithra Gowda, who is the main accused in the case, Rs 2 crore for buying house.
It is said that Soundarya Jagadish signed the sale deed for the house as a witness, but no other official documents have surfaced in this issue so far. Soundarya Jagadish was also recognised in Darshan’s circle of close friends. He had ended his life recently.
Jagadish had transferred around Rs 2 crore to Pavitra Gowda’s bank account. However, the police are yet to establish why the money was transferred and whether it was related to Jagadish’s suicide.
According to sources, an amount of Rs 1 crore was transferred to Pavithra Gowda’s account on November 13, 2017 and he again transferred some more money on January 23, 2018. Pavithra Gowda purchased the house on January 24, 2018 and the transaction was done at TGMC Bank Limited, Rajajinagar branch. While the police have dug up records of Soundarya Jagdish transferring money to Pavithra Gowda, they have no information if any of the amount was returned to Soundarya Jagadish.
Soundarya Jagadish committed suicide recently over alleged financial issues at his residence in Mahalakshmi Layout. Shashirekha, the wife of the Soundarya Jagdish, has denied the allegations made against Pavithra over his suicide.
The Mahalakshmi Layout police have intensified the investigation and started verification of documents from the bank and sub-registrar office. They are considering questioning of Pavithra after securing a body warrant if Shashirekha lodges a complaint, the sources said.
