DAVANAGERE: Students of a PU college here are staring at an uncertain future as the college gates have been locked by the property owner who in involved in a dispute with the college management.
For the last one week, students of Mahesh PU College at Vivekananda Layout here have been turning up for classes only to find the gates locked every day. The college management apparently has paid the rent, running into laksh, to the property owner, as a result of which the latter has locked the premises.
Students and parents complained that neither the college management nor the property owner are responding to them.
Roopa, a parent, said, “The management has apparently not paid up Rs 10 lakh towards rent. The management is not responding to calls from parents and children are stranded outside. What are we to do about the children’s future? The management will be responsible if our children fail in one or two subjects. The lecturers are good and we have no complaints about them. The management has erred somewhere”.
