MYSURU: Prohibitory orders have been imposed at Chamundi Hills in view of the dispute over organising ‘Mahisha Mandala Utsava’ and ‘Chamundi Chalo’ as a counter to it.

Public entry is barred and no one will be allowed to visit Chamundi Temple today. Stringent police arrangements have been made around the Hills.

The Mahisha Dasara Celebrations Committee had called for ‘Mahisha Dasara’ celebrations today. Flower offerings were made to the Mahishasura statue at Chamundi Hills at 10.30 am, followed by the ‘ Mahisha Mandala Utsava’ programme outside the palace.

The police department has strictly prohibited processions and rallies, marches, bike rallies, shouting slogans and fireworks, gatherings of more than five people, public events, public meetings or events, use of publicity materials including loudspeakers, flexes, banners, or pamphlets, or idol processions.
