BENGALURU: Actress Ranya Rao was given protocol at the international airport, which has been confirmed during the investigation.
A team led by Additional Chief Secretary Gaurav Gupta was formed to investigate the protocol violation. The team investigated the staff at the airport and the protocol officers who were present. They also questioned senior IPS officer Ramachandra Rao, who denied the allegations.
The investigation team has gathered crucial evidence, including technical evidence, proving that Ramachandra Rao misused his position. They have also obtained CCTV footage of the car sent to the airport to pick up Ranya Rao. The government vehicle’s number has also been obtained.
The team has also obtained the call detail record (CDR) of Ramachandra Rao’s call to protocol staffer Basavaraj. Constable Basavaraj has also recorded his statement with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and the probe team. The team has found evidence that Ramachandra Rao was in contact with Ranya Rao until the day of the incident.
The investigation team will submit its final report to the government on Friday.
