BENGALURU: The investigation into the viral videos showing the luxurious life of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail inmates is likely to be transferred to the Central Crime Branch (CCB). After a series of complaints were recorded about the incident, officials have moved to hand over the case to the CCB for further inquiry.

Following the video’s going viral, four complaints were lodged at the Parappana Agrahara police station, and an FIR has been registered based one of those complaints.

Actor Dhanveer detained by CCB over viral Parappana Agrahara Jail videos

Several videos of jail inmates inside Parappana Agrahara Central Jail living a luxurious life have gone viral. In connection with this case, actor Darshan’s close associate, actor Dhanveer, was questioned by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and the Parappana Agrahara police.

Based on suspicion that Dhanveer was involved in the making of the viral videos that showed notorious criminals such as rapist Umesh Reddy, gold smuggler Tarun, the suspected terrorist Shaqil Manna, and drunken inmates dancing and celebrating, the CCB police questioned him on Monday night.

During the questioning, the mobile phone used by Dhanveer was seized and is being analysed. There is suspicion that the video was released using a hidden camera, and this is being investigated. The Parappana Agrahara police have begun examining Dhanveer’s call details (CDR) from the past three months.

The CDR (call‑detail record) shows that he was in contact with another hidden‑camera user. After taking him into custody and questioning him, if more information is obtained, the police sources say Dhanveer could face serious trouble.

Dhanveer’s mobile has been sent to the South‑East Division’s Central Police Station for retrieval. It is expected to reach the Parappana Agrahara police by evening. After reviewing the mobile retrieval report, the police plan to summon Dhanveer again for further questioning tomorrow.

During the investigation, Dhanveer told the police that he had no role in the matter and that he did not know who was behind the viral video. When his mobile was examined, initially no information was found, but the deleted call details from his phone have been sent to the Central Police Station for retrieval.
