BENGALURU: The city police are yet to file a chargesheet even after a year since pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in the corridors of the Vidhana Soudha following the biennial Rajya Sabha election. This is because Ballari Rajya Sabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain is yet to record his statement before the police despite being served several notices.

Pro-Pakistan slogans were allegedly raised in the Vidhana Soudha corridor by supporters of Syed Naseer Hussain after his election. A forensic report had also confirmed that ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans had been raised. Following this, Mohammed Nashipudi, Munawar and Iltiyaz had been arrested.

The three accused are now out on bail, but the police haven’t filed a chargesheet yet as the MP, who was present at the scene when the slogans were raised, has not yet recorded his statement with the police. He has been served several notices, but has not acted on them, sources said.
