BENGALURU: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has criticised JD(S)-BJP alliance saying that it is only to protect H D Kumaraswamy’s existence.
Reacting to the alliance issue and Kumaraswamy’s statement that those who want to leave the party can go, Priyank Kharge said, “If he speaks like that, it clearly shows his state of mind”.
“As he has said, it is clear that he does not want people who are in favour of the Constitution and who believe in secular principles. Because of this, many people left JD(S). It was a secular party, but not it has no people and no team (Dal) with them. There is no secular philosophy after joining the BJP. That is why people are leaving the party. Not only the minority, several others leaders have come out of JD(S)” the minister said.
“Many people joined the party believing in the secular ideology of the JD(S), not blindly trusting the family or certain individuals. They are deserting the party now. Congress will welcome JD(S) members”, Priyank Kharge said and added, “Anyone from the party who accepts our party’s ideology and the Constitution can come. We will welcome them”.
