Private individual found issuing tickets on KSRTC bus, conductor suspended

A private individual was seen issuing tickets to passengers on a KSRTC bus.

RAMANAGARA: A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus conductor was suspended after a private individual was found issuing tickets to passengers in a bus plying between Kanakapura and Hunasanahalli. The bus (KA 42 F 0746) belongs to the Kanakapura depot and a video of a young man issuing tickets on behalf of the conductor had gone viral on social media.

The individual was seen issuing tickets to only women passengers and collecting money from male passengers.

The private individual, with no uniform, was found to be issuing free travel tickets to women passengers on the bus while he was taking the fare amount from the male passengers, but not issuing tickets. When one of the passengers questioned him about the vigilance squad, he replied saying that they pay off officials every month and that they would not check the particular bus.

Conductor Naveen was suspended by the authorities.

After Public TV aired the report, the Ramanagara divisional controller issued orders suspending Naveen, the conductor of the bus. The depot manager also lodged a complaint againt the private individual with the Kodihalli police. Further investigation is under way.
