The stickers were mysteriously removed overnight.

MYSURU: Amid the controversy over renaming the KRS Road and Siddaramaiah Arogya Marga, stickers proclaiming the road as Princess Road, stuck by activists of some groups on Wednesday evening at different places along the road, had suddently disappeared by Thursday morning. Only traces of puja offered by the activists remained at the spots.

The action gave rise to speculation on whether the stickers were removed by some miscreants, activists of some organisation, or by the police themselves. The stickers had been stuck by activists of the Karnataka Rashtra Sene and other organisations between Cheluvamba Park and the Vivekananda Statue.

The stickers also mentioned that Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar had given the name in 1921 and bore the pictures of the king and Krishnarajammanni. But by Thursday morning, there was not even a trace of the stickers having been stuck at different places along the road.

Meanwhile, another document has been found in which the road is mentioned as Princess Road. A city map of the erstwhile City Improvement Trust Board (CITB), signed by the then chairman, mentions the name of the road as Princess Road.
