Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to safari in Bandipur during April 9 visit

MYSURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Chamarajanagar district on April 8 night to take part in the launch of a three-day mega event commemorating the completion of 50 years of Project Tiger. The event, to be held on April 9, will showcase India’s tiger conservation success globally.

On April 8, Modi will be staying at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Mysuru. Early next morning, he will go on a safari in Bandipur National Park following which he will address a public rally at the Open Air Theatre on the University of Mysore campus.

On April 1, 2023, Project Tiger completes 50 years during the Amritkal, signifying peace, prosperity, development and conservation in sync with the Prime Minister’s vision of Mission LiFE. At this juncture, to commemorate 50 years of Project Tiger, it is pertinent that a mega event be organised to showcase India’s tiger conservation success globally to garner more political and public support for tiger conservation. Apart from the Tiger Census, a commemorative coin release is also proposed, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.
