Prime accused in Madanayakanahalli gangrape arrested

BENGALURU: The Madanayakanahalli police have arrested the prime accused in connection with breaking into a house, tying up a man and assaulting him, and then gangraping a woman in Gangondanahalli village of Bengaluru North taluk on the day of the Deepavali festival.

Mithun, the main accused, who had been absconding ever since the gangrape case was registered, was hiding near Shivagange in Nelamangala taluk. The accused was arrested by a team led by Nelamangala Deputy SP Jagadish and team.

With this, all six accused in the case have been arrested, including two minors. They have been sent to a juvenile rehab centre. The others — Mithun, Karthik, Naveen and Gyani — have been arrested.
