The 50:50 ratio compensation scheme was brought in when Siddaramaiah became CM for the first time.

MYSURU: Amid the controversy over the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) allocating 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi B M in lieu of 3.16 acres of land in Kesare, it has now come to light that it was the then government headed by Siddaramaiah himself which issued orders for compensation under 50:50 ratio for land acquired.

The then government, when Siddaramaiah became CM for the first time, had even given permission for creation of 1.17 lakh sites and had issued orders to follow the 50: 50 ratio compensation across all the 28 urban civic bodies across the state. It was also planned to create 25,000 residential sites in Mysuru alone.

A letter, dated July 25, 2014, and written by the under-secretary to the government, had directed all urban bodies to submit proposals as per the government decision taken on June 6, 2014. The letter also directed the civic bodies to submit at least one proposal under the 50:50 scheme with priority for the year 2014-15.
