MANGALURU: A woman was booked for beating her father-in-law with his walking stick and throwing him to the ground, at Kulshekar here. The incident occurred on March 9 and the badly injured man was identified as Padmanabha Suvarna (87).
The daughter-in-law Umashankari is employed with Mescom at Attavar and her act was caught on a CCTV camera installed inside the house. The incident came to light when her husband, who works abroad, checked the CCTV camera footage.
Padmanabha Suvarna has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment of his injuries. Based on a complaint from the daughter Priya Suvarna and the CCTV footage, the Kankanady police have registered a case of attempt to murder against Umashankari.
