BENGALURU: After raising the power tariff by Rs 2.15 per unit last month, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) has delivered yet another shock to power consumers by hiking the tariff further by Rs 1.15 per unit.
The latest hike will be effective from September itself and Bescom has claimed that it is being done as per Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) rules. The hike will be towards cost adjustment towards monthly power purchase, it said.
Following Bescom, power utility Hescom too said power tariff will be increased in its jurisdiction. The other power utilities are also expected to follow suit.
