BENGALURU: Posters making derogatory claims, with pictures of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar sprung up overnight in some parts of the city, prompting the police to register a complaint under the Karnataka Open Places Disfigurement Act on Tuesday.

The posters, accusing the Deputy CM of misusing women for political gains, were found pasted on the wall of a flyover, near the Mysuru deviation road, and Vatal Nagaraj Road, at the Sujatha Talkies and Reliance Petrol Bunk bus shelters and near Lulu Mall.

Based on a report filed by Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna D M of Magadi Road police station, the police have registered a case. Police Commissioner B Dayananda, earlier in the day, said steps were being taken to clear the posters and added that either the election flying squad or the BBMP itself can lodge a complaint.
