BENGALURU: A caste survey enumerator was assaulted by a possessive husband after the former took his wife’s phone number and photo during a survey at Austin Town in the city.
The incident occurred when enumerator Abhishek and Peddaiah part of a team led by Abhishek, visited the house of Stephen a.k.a Anil house for the socio-economic and education survey. Stephen was not home at that time and the enumerators obtained his wife’s phone number and Aadhaar card photo for the survey.
The next day, Stephen confronted the enumerators, questioning why they had visited his house when he was not home and why they had taken his wife’s details. Despite the enumerators explaining that they were government employees conducting a survey, Stephen assaulted them, punching Abhishek in the face.
The enumerators, fearing for their safety, fled the scene and later filed a complaint with the Ashok Nagar police station.
