BENGALURU: The city police are preparing to open history sheets against those who have been booked under the Arms Act. This comes in the wake of an increasing number of cases where anti-social elements were found to be wielding weapons.

In the Western Division, the police have prepared a list of those who have been booked for flashing machetes and knives and making reels and rowdy behaviour. The police are now informing each accused individual that a history sheet will be opened against them if they are found to be active in criminal activities or any riots.

There has been an increase in incidents of people showing off machetes and swords in public places and intimidating others on the streets. Despite registering cases under the Arms Act and taking legal action, the accused continue to repeat the same offences. Thus, the Western Division police have decided to open history sheets against them in order to bring them under control.

This new move by the police may trouble television actors Rajat and Vinay. An FIR has already been registered against them under the Arms Act at the Basaveshwaranagar police station.

Now, with the police planning to open history sheets against those booked under the Arms Act, Rajat Kishan and Vinay might face serious trouble, say police sources.
