Police to dig up all cases of ‘Santro’ Ravi since 1995, probe his political links

BENGALURU: With the arrest of wheeler-dealer and human trafficker K S Manjunath a.k.a ‘Santro’ Ravi, the government is taking the issue seriously.

On the directions of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, the Home department is now planning to dig up all his old cases, right from 1995 and investigate the role of previous governments, and with whom he was in contact.

‘Santro’ Ravi had caused unease in the government after the Opposition Congress and the JD(S) had linked him to the BJP. After his photos with leaders of the current dispensation were splashed on social media, the BJP government took the issue seriously and ‘Santro’ Ravi was arrested from Ahmedabad on Friday.

Now, the Home department, on the CM’s instructions, plans to go through all the previous cases registered against him, mostly in Bengaluru and Mysuru, and also probe his links with political leaders and whom he had been in touch over the last 20 years, the deals he had struck in previous governments, financial deals among other issues.
