BENGALURU: Ahead of the New Year celebrations, ganja peddlers have become active in Bengaluru. The peddlers and smugglers are now using trains to bring ganja into the city to avoid police checkings.
The city police have set up checkpoints at various locations to curb the peddling of ganja and other narcotic substances. However, the peddlers have found a new way to evade the police by taking the Prashanti and Hatia Express trains.
For the second time, the Railway Police seized ganja worth Rs 1 crore and arrested eight people in connection with the case. The police are investigating the matter further.
